The Arabidopsis Information Resource The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) maintains a database of genetic and molecular biology data for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Data available from TAIR includes the complete genome sequence along with gene structure, gene product information, gene expression, DNA and seed stocks, genome maps, genetic and physical markers, publications, and information about the Arabidopsis research community. Gene product function data is updated every week from the latest published research literature and community data submissions. TAIR also provides extensive linkouts from our data pages to other Arabidopsis resources.
Plant and Microbial Biology Department Plant & Microbial Biology is one of four departments in the prestigious College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley, and Bob Fischer is the current Chair of PMB. It is split into two divisions, Plant Biology and Microbial Biology The Department traces its origins to the reorganization of the biological science departments at Berkeley in the mid 1980s. The majority of the department's labs and administrative offices are located in Koshland Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Koshland Hall is named after Daniel Edward Koshland, Jr., a biochemist whose lab made made major discoveries concerning protein phosphorylation in bacteria.

Berkeley Postdoctoral Association The Berkeley Postdoctoral Association (BPA) is a volunteer organization of postdocs working for all postdocs. On their website you can find information on social events, schedule of orientation for new postdoctoral scholars, policy issues of interest to Berkeley postdoctoral scholars, announcements for seminars for professional development, and lists of useful resources.
The Graduate Assembly The Graduate Social Club (GSC) facilitates social interaction between members of the graduate population by organizing and sponsoring a variety of social events that bring together graduate students from diverse academic interests. Typical events include large receptions, Grad Bar Nights at rotating locales, community outings, lectures, hiking trips, wine tours, pool-hall nights, and holiday parties. All are welcome and encouraged to come, so come meet your peers and explore what the Berkeley graduate community has to offer!
