The Arabidopsis Information Resource |
The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) maintains a database of genetic and molecular biology data for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Data available from TAIR includes the complete genome sequence along with gene structure, gene product information, gene expression, DNA and seed stocks, genome maps, genetic and physical markers, publications, and information about the Arabidopsis research community. Gene product function data is updated every week from the latest published research literature and community data submissions. TAIR also provides extensive linkouts from our data pages to other Arabidopsis resources. |
Plant and Microbial Biology Department |
Plant & Microbial Biology is one of four departments in the prestigious College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley, and Bob Fischer is the current Chair of PMB. It is split into two divisions, Plant Biology and Microbial Biology The Department traces its origins to the reorganization of the biological science departments at Berkeley in the mid 1980s. The majority of the department's labs and administrative offices are located in Koshland Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. Koshland Hall is named after Daniel Edward Koshland, Jr., a biochemist whose lab made made major discoveries concerning protein phosphorylation in bacteria.
