The Seed Institute

The Fischer lab has a long-standing collaboration with Bob Goldberg's Lab at UCLA, Gary Drew's Lab at the University of Utah, and John Harada's Lab at UC Davis.  In 1990 The Seed Institute was formed, designed to bring together the scientific minds of former members of the Goldberg lab, and each of their current labs, to best elucidate the molecular pathways that define seed development in flowering plants.  This collaboration culminates each year in a meeting in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, Ontario, when all groups attend, every lab member speaks, and the years' work is celebrated with good food and new ideas.
